Big Water Municipal Corporation would like to encourage a clean up of our residential areas by
focusing on maintaining a basic level of quality within our town. We are asking all residents
and property owners to join us in making Big Water clean by acting responsibly when disposing
of unwanted items such as trash, bulky items, and construction debris and by looking after their
properties. We would like to adopt a team based approach to proactively enforce the laws we
already have to make our streets and community cleaner and safer, our buildings graffiti-free
and structurally safe, and to stand up against the substandard living conditions too many
residents have had to live with.
We currently have many ordinances targeting common nuisances such as weeds and tall
grass, trash, junk, inoperable vehicles, barking dogs, parking violations. They also address the
more serious issues of building safety, overcrowding, zoning, and crime.
We have been contacting several crushing companies with regard to finding out what is
involved with vehicle removal. There are a minimum number of tons of metal needed before a
company will become involved and commit to a major clean up of this scope.
During Memorial Day weekend an informal survey was conducted to gather an estimate of the
amount of crushable metal and/or inoperable vehicles currently in the Plat “A” section of Big
Water. The following link shows the results.
The town of Big Water is working to encourage safe and healthy neighborhoods. The best way
to achieve these goals is with your cooperation. Here is what you can do:
Sign up for vehicle removal; please include the following:
1. Exact address (required for vehicles on private property) or street and cross-street
where vehicle is parked;
2. Vehicle color, make and model;
3. Vehicle license plate number and State where issued;
4. Your name and phone # in case more information is needed.
