Automatic External Defibrillator

Big Water Fire and Rescue has been working with the Kane County Commission and the Kane County Board of Tourism and has secured a gift of a $1,700 Automatic External Defibrillator that will be put in RESCUE 32, which is now stationed at Church Wells. Commissioner Dirk Clayson was instrumental in securing this device and without his commitment it would have never happened.

Kane County will present the device to Big Water Fire and Rescue at a commission meeting in the near future.

Rescue 32 proved its worth two weeks ago responding from Church Wells to the Paria Ranger Station where a traveler was experiencing a critical heart issue. Rescue 32 was able to deliver medics and treat the patient before the arrival of ambulances and helicopter transport, likely greatly improving the outcome of the patient!
